POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is seeking a proactive, self-directed Workday Product Owner who is passionate about leveraging cutting-edge systems to improve business processes and reporting. The Product Owner will report to the Senior Director, Business Services Operations and Advisor to the COO and will support the Business Services Group (including Finance, Human Resources and Procurement) as well as end-user stakeholders in the optimization, on-going maintenance, and operational and technical support of all aspects of the Workday ecosystem. This person will work closely with the Technology group, who manage all technical Workday needs including configuration, reporting, and security.

 

This role will take on the critical function of partnering with various departments to design, implement/test and deploy key enhancements, best practices, integrations, and innovative solutions that leverage the Workday platform and maximize its value to the Foundation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Product Roadmap
  • Develop, maintain, and evolve the Workday Product roadmap vision in close collaboration with leadership, technology, functional leads, and end-users.
  • Managing and prioritizing the product backlog of enhancements, bugs, and standard maintenance in a way that will deliver the key milestones identified on the roadmap.
  • Clearly understand the industry and industry trends that drive the building of the roadmap of the Workday product and other financial related solutions.
  • Establish processes to optimize request in-take and prioritization, in close collaboration with Technology.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, team, and cross-team members.
  • Form user groups that can provide feedback related to the performance and features of Workday.
  • Stimulate and encourage innovation conversations across product and development teams.
  • Provide timely updates to management and teams on all initiatives in progress.
  • Releases and Enhancements Management.
  • Collaborate with business owners/stakeholders to understand business needs, current and future state business processes, project specifications, business case development, and data sources.
  • Translate desired business outcomes into business requirements and closely collaborating with developers on development.
  • Lead and coordinate all testing activities, in partnership with business owners.
  • Partner with Technology Services on bi-annual Workday updates. Coordinate with Functional Leads to review release notes, select updates, test, train and communicates to end users.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact to Technology for Workday.

End User Support / Change Management

  • Serve as a Workday champion and promote user adoption within and outside of the Business Services Group.
  • Oversee Business Analyst with support for Workday.
  • Ensure that creation and maintenance of training and communications is taking place.
  • Ensure that we maintain robust training documentation for end-users and Backoffice staff.
  • Understand how to measure and drive business value, work to define and develop metrics and KPIs on the performance and usability of Workday.

BSG Initiatives

  • Support with other system implementations or initiatives project management as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Technology, related field or equivalent experience.
  • Candidates should possess ten or more years of related experience.
  • Strong preference for candidates with previous large enterprise Workday implementation and administration experience; Workday certifications a plus.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience with Workday in multiple areas, including Financials, Human Capital Management, and Adaptive.
  • ScrumMaster and/or certified Scrum Product Owner highly desired (advanced ScrumMaster, advanced Scrum Product Owner, or Certified Scrum Professional).
  • Complex project management experience required, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.
  • Understanding of Agile software development life cycle concepts and practices.
  • Experience leading design, configuration, testing, and post-production support for multiple functional areas, including experience with data conversion, security configuration, and process documentation.
  • Experience implementing multiple projects at the same time. Must be able to thrive in a demanding, change-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Five or more years of management/supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong leadership and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong relationship management, partnership, and collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented, responsible, and proactive.

  • Strong business analysis, business acumen, and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify issues, concerns, challenges, and the ability to implement workflows.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to gather information and grasp complex technical and financial issues.
