The Need

For 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence by 2030, we are seeking a Sr. Lead, Workday to work with the Global Technology, Finance, and People teams to manage Workday, IJM’s HCM, Financials and Payroll system.

This position is remote in the US and reports to the Global Director, Workday.

Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit strong collaboration and partnership skills in partnering with Workday leaders to manage and maintain a globally standardized system and ensure it is configured to best practices and is continually improving.
  • Engage with business partners and power users to gather, write, and qualify requirements. Create clear requirements documentation for user acceptance, cross functional roles and guidance for external consultants (as needed).
  • Own all configuration changes and enhancements for assigned functional areas of the system and ensure they follow best practice and build, validate and support complex reports, eligibility, and conditional rules.
  • Partner with the Workday Global SME’s in automating, streamlining, and improving their business processes and needs and ensuring system is configured to policies and regulatory needs.
  • Manage all consultants supporting Workday products for projects or production support and mentor & oversee analysts on troubleshooting system issues and facilitating small to medium sized projects.
  • Plan and execute technical and cross functional projects, including oversight of external consultants and other analysts (ie. Annual projects, large reorganizations, module implementation, etc.).
  • Facilitate user acceptance review, testing, and sign off meetings with business partners, external consultants and product team to ensure delivery of satisfactory product.
  • Drive continual Workday system improvements and inform the Product Roadmap with new ideas based on strategic vision, product performance, requests from business partners, and ongoing user requests.
  • Provide support, guidance, technical knowledge base articles, and training to power users on the Workday system so that they can own the operational aspects of the system and support their end users on operational transactions.
  • Empower HCM power users to own their areas of the system and guide them in requirements gathering and developing UAT scripts and end user knowledge base articles.
  • Partner with business subject matter experts and change management team to create communication and trainings for annual projects and large system changes.
  • Ensure data and security is audited and maintained to design principles and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, FIN, Information Systems, Computer Science, related field or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and certification.
  • 7+ years’ professional work experience.
  • 5+ years HR systems experience, including new module implementation, project management, issue management, communication, and change management (Prior experience with global system support and deployment a plus).
  • 3+ years’ Workday HRIS configuration and requirements gathering experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience configuring Workday functional areas such as absence, time tracking, and compensation.
  • Experience configuring security and business processes.
  • Experience configuring in Workday required including building calculated fields, reports, and EIB’s.
  • Experience writing UAT criteria or scripts for technical system requirements.
  • Experience with project management methodologies including agile.
  • High proficiency in Excel or with other data analysis tools preferred.
  • Experience with a broad range of Workday skus required.
  • Workday trainings required.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner in managing the Workday system and collaborate with other leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, analyze and explain complex and abstract problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple or competing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-cultural relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead peers in completion of projects or strategic initiatives.
