Overview

Provide strategic leadership and direct operations, support and reporting for central University human resources, payroll, timekeeping, administrative learning management and administrative recruiting systems. Lead the design, testing, execution and continuous improvement of operational processes. Collaborate with colleagues and key stakeholders in NYU Abu Dhabi, Shanghai, and the global sites to coordinate operations that affect common platforms and services. Direct the design and configuration of new business processes. Manage the creation of training, newsletters and knowledgebase articles on HR systems and processes. Manage the day-to-day customer service operations of the team. Keep abreast of new HR system functionality and emerging technologies. Lead the development and maintenance of standard and ad-hoc reports and dashboards in central HR systems to meet requests from internal clients and external agencies. Oversee the team’s participation in complex projects to expand or improve HR system capabilities, including their participation in system testing, UAT, development of reports/dashboards and quality assurance reviews.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree Business or Information Technology / Computer Science or equivalent

Preferred Education:
Master’s Degree Business Administration (MBA), Master’s in Information Technology, or other relevant advanced degree.

Required Experience:
7+ years Significant information systems management experience or equivalent education and experience. Must have demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams, manage operations and implement process improvements. Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing strategic plans and programs.

Preferred Experience:
5+ years experience managing HR applications. Project management and/or other specialized certification. Previous experience with Workday highly preferred.

Excellent interpersonal, analytical, negotiation, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and foster relationships with people at all levels of an organization. Strong understanding of cloud-based software-as-a-service, human resource technologies and processes and data analysis and reporting. Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and emerging technologies. Ability to work well across organizational lines to meet larger departmental objectives. Demonstrated understanding of the principles of operational planning and resource management. Demonstrated focus on measuring and delivering a high quality level of service to user community. Ability to respond quickly to changing business needs and priorities. Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information. Ability to manage external vendor relations. Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills and a track record in developing innovative solutions.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Project management and/or other specialized certification.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $150,000.00 to USD $190,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
